Rooney is good but he isn't that good , there are players in the England squad who could turn a game as much as rooney , the question is has Sven got the ability to exploit the others players in that way . We saw in EURO 2004 that once Rooney was off Sven didn't have a clue so maybe with a bit of advance warning about weaknesses in his squad he can still build a team that will work .
This is why O'Neil woul;d be a great choice for Engalnd manager he does fucking wonders with the squad he has available even if they aren't necessarily the best players

Whats the point giving his place to another of the mediocre options who Sven won't play anyway?
If he is not going to make it I would consider Fowler, Sheringham (not going to happen though), Defoe or Bent to be the best options.....or there is always Vassel
Crouch is going and I don't mind that, he's not any worse than any of the other options really.
