A more correct analogy would be Ronaldo pulling over to the side of the road, parking the car safely in an appropriate location, then getting out of the car and loudly claiming to some police officer some bastard in a truck had just written off his car, killing him and his family.
When the police officer questioned this version of events he/she would be surrounded by other drivers loudly backing up Ronaldo's claims to be both orphaned and dead, and a myopic tramp across the road would write to the Chief Constable demanding that the cop be sacked on the grounds that they were absolute incompetents to suggest that Ronaldo might not have been killed in a fiery collision between his car and a truck.
Then Ronaldo would get back in his car and drive off, uninjured and alive.
