Ronaldo: Ferguson's tactics were shit

i've seen him live on at least umm 4 occasions and don't think he is a great player.

Merely a danm good one with great passing ability.

I'd have him starting in my man united team though, just needs hargreves to put tackles in for him.

Eh? I think you may be getting me confused with another games-playing muppet. Games aren't my thing.

Still, it's good to see the self incrimination. You ever been to a live Premiership game yet, let alone seen your own supposed team at Old Trafford? You little Sky armchair general you.
:D

You'll have it take it from me that Carrick isn't widely perceived as a great player. It's not even true if Andy Gray says it on the tellybox or someone down the pub tells you it.

Yes I have been to a EPL game, though considering I was stuck in the away end behind the goals I reckon watching on the tele would give a better idea of what was going on.

I've also seen Carrick play in a crappy friendly and he struck me as one classy fucker. Hardly evidence of his greatness but then he's got 3 league medals and a CL medal for that.

So, do you think that Ferguson's tactics were poor or just that the players weren't good enough? (genuine question)

a mixture of both on the day

ofcourse the players were good enough. They won it last year

more a case of they weren't good enough on the day. if exactly the same line ups and tactics played 4 times in 2 weeks the score wouldn't be 2-0 to barca every time

last year barca couldn't score past us in 3 hours of football, this year our defence was woeful.

On another day Utd win and there's a whole different set of arguments

the very top level where he's won 3 euro pots, 11 league titles, 6 FA cups...?
what could be more 'top' than that?

I'd say he just got floored by Pep's masterstroke of playing Messi in the hole. who could have foreseen that? likewise Vidic, Park, giggs playing shite.

Anyone who's watched a few of their games this season?

Giggs is finished anyway, he and Anderson were as good as dead out there.

I was asking the organ grinder, not the monkey. :p

So in a season where United played 65 games including two in Japan in the middle of the xmas schedule and yet still win the league, the league cup, get to the semi's of th FA Cup and the final of the Champions League, Fergie is not on top?

There are some fucking utter morons out there.

You are an embarrasment to Alkaline Trio fans.

Why? Are Alkaline Trio fans well known for sucking Alex Ferguson's penis or just for not questioning his mistakes?

His team selection was poor. To the question who'd have known Messi would play in the hole, apart from anyone who'd watched a few times, how about anyone who watched the first 15 minutes of the game? I rate Giggs, over his career, what a player, but I thought he was a fish out of water on Wednesday. A younger man would've applied more pressure. Considering Giggs was adding very little going forward as well as defending you have to question the logic of picking him.

who else has played midfield for United this season, and don't say Scholes cos he's less mobile than Giggs.

I've answered the question in a much more nuanced way through otu tis thread, if you are a retard who needs shit cut into wee pieces for you that's your problem.

Still waiting for the retard reply......

I just watched the second half again, wow, MU rally are shit at dealing with decent teams. :D :D :D

Tactically Fergie has proved himself to be the best manager since the inception of the premiership, sorry but if you think it's just down to money (has of course played a role though) your clutching at straws. I think we already have seen the relatively expenditure by Man Utd and Liverpool over the last few years being very similar (thanks for pointing that out Rafa).

On the night he might not have got it quite right, but I think it was more down to how Barca played. The idea that Rafa or Hiddink would have faired but is not really supported by the evidence...being as neither of them could actually get their teams to the final.

interestingly I was reading an article in the Telegraph from January 1999 the other day which was talking about managers in the premier league . It highlighted that since the start of the premier league only 2 managers were still with the clubs they started with . Ferguson and the then Wimbledon manager , the article concluded that the wimbledon manager was the more succesfull for achieving what he had with the budget etc.

Who was that?....Kinnear? depends what you measure success by though f*ck I'd rather be in fergies shoes than that mug...as for success, he did well with newcastle ...dreadful with regard the modern game, did alright with the class that was floating about in the 90's

Year it was Kinnear . I think by success they were judging it as how long he had lasted at the club and what they had achieved given their situation .
