Rome

Well there's the usual tourist traps Coliseum, Spanish steps, Coliseum etc.... But there's some stunning places to visit too. If you like your churches you should certainly have a look at Santa Maria dei Angelli by Piazza Republica and near Termini, grubby outside but stunning inside, Santa Maria maggiore on Via Cavour, a 5 minute walt from termini and on the way to the Coliseum. There's also San Giovanni in Laterano, the original home of the Bishop of Rome (ie the Pope) which is a 30 second walk from San Giovanni underground.
Have a look at the Pantheon is is also stunning and a remarkable feat of architecture and engineering as are the Capotilono and the Campodoglio at the bottom of Via del Corso. Take a bus to the top of Gianicolo (one of the 7 hills) and enjoy the view. Or goto the Villa Borghese in San Lorenzo for some breathtaking art.

Get the underground to Circo Massimo to see the Circus maximus and have your own 'Ben Hur' moment. Get6 the metro to Piramide where you can hjave a look at the remarkably beautiful 'Protestant Cemetery' and the Piramide and wild cats of the Piramide.

For some food i'd recomment Zingarella in San Giovanni, for a pint of Guinness try Finnegans on via Leonina right by Cavour underground.

Just a few ideas....
Personally i'd see if ASRoma are playing at home and watch them.
