Rod Lucas, TalkSport DJ named on BNP member list joined to research story

Do you mean this bit MC5, where he accuses Lucas of lying about the BNP?

Meanwhile more light has been shone on the TalkSport radio incident I described a few days ago. A further email yesterday confirmed that on Thursday night/ Friday morning 30th October whilst the presenter, Rod Lucas was interviewing Sir Andrew Green of Migrationwatch UK, it was announced that Nick had refused to come on the show. This is a total fabrication as Nick had already agreed to the slot and it was TalkSport who cancelled because they wanted to cover the Ross/Brand/Sachs story instead.

How exactly does one "join" the ALF?

You don't, simple as that.

The ALF, IIRC, is made up of a number of cells that act largely independently of one another. They take security very seriously and cells don't always know of each other's existence, let alone actual indentity.

The cells might work together briefly on particular actions, but there's no membership list, named officials, central committee or anything like that in the ALF.

I know. Which is why it is dubious statement to make. Anyone taking DA to liberate our fellow creatures from imprisonment, torture or death can call themself ALF, and quite right too. I wish I had the bravery.

There is a film somewhere called "Behind The Mask" which utterly changed my opinion of them.

Presumably for someone who is inside a cell, at some point in time they 'joined' that cell. 'Joining' a group of people doesn't have to mean any paperwork does it? Fuck knows what this guy means when he says he 'joined' but if he was just trying to do some undercover journalism then he probably means he 'joined' some people who claimed they were involved in ALF-type activities in the pub a couple of times and tried to milk them for anecdotes of raids on puppy farms. What else do journalists mean when they claim to have 'joined' an activist group? Obviously if they can 'join' by post and sit at home reading leaflets then that's probably what they will do.
