Rockness Festival

I know him too! he's one of my son's friends. I missed all that ceilidh tent thing on the Friday night, damn. Always start off with a plan and then it all goes out the window.

I'm sure I've seen that blonde girl with the pink top and shorts in other people's photos too, she's not half posing.*

Fantastic photos, really capture the atmosphere. (goes off to throw her camera in the bin)

The Ceilidh Allstars session was great - I dipped in and out of it (mainly to go back to the Black Isle tent for a refill) over several hours. Every one of the bands was good in some way. :)

Oh yes, I saw her posing all over the place. Along with quite a few others - Some of whom had to be forcibly restrained from throwing themselves in front of cameras by their pals. Dunno if I should post the pic of the Irish lass with the well-loaded joint? :D

Thanks. :)

Bump!!

I've just seen the line up!

and I'm not going to Glasto and I need a substitue - yes I definitely have that old festy feeling.:D

Who's going then? A good place for a Scottish Urbs meet? :D:cool:

Although ive left the oxfam festivals office im heading up again and i know they are still looking for help... come on scottish urbanites, get your steward on!

I would apply to be a steward, but mr mania is not so well just now and I don't think he could cope with the festy and having to do shifts.

Also I really REALLY want to see Ian Brown and would be mortified if I had to work when he was on.

Will spread word around some likely types here tho, Portree High School S6 etc, tho they are probably all too young. Do you have to be over 21?

What does stewarding involve?? Tolerating lots of messy, pissed up chavs?? Or is it not like T in the park??

Stewarding is a great way to see the festival for free. Genreally people are great toward you and the Oxfam crew are a frendly bunch. Together with the extra facilities it's a good experience.

you only need to be 18 to steward. Thank you so much for spreading the world arround :) the steward crew are pretty good at shift swapping to let people see their favorite band normally, as sunray said, we are a friendly bunch :)

It is nowhere near as bad as TITP but yes, you will have to put-up with a load of pissed-up teenagers. Although very good natured, this is a predominantly younger-outlook festival.

Some of the stewards/security last year were so detached from the event it was hillarious.

Also a number of lassies from one of my local bars got together and stewarded for the last couple of years - they had a great time but I don't think they stopped all weekend.

Well I've booked tickets!

I suppose I'll be the oldest c**t there but I don't care!

really looking forward to it! :)

Nope - There should be me and eight or nine other reprobates. We have tickets sorted but are holding out for more backstage passes this time. ;)

For me yes - Sadly I am not on the way to Rockness today.

Did my side in a bit last weekend and although it is a bit better, I really don't think it would be wise to risk a festival!

And we are skint! :(
