Rock Hudson

My point is that he wasn't that good an actor, and his sexuality came through sometimes, with that being a sign of poor acting.

When Laurence Olivier played Othello, you were convinced of his feelings for Desdemona. With Rock, you didn't get that.
I don't agree. I was totally convinced when he did the love scene with Crystal Carrington from Dynasty :D

I think Rock Hudson was a kitsch Fifties american actor, a la Charlton Heston. He could be fun in a movie, but he wasn't an acting great.

Which is the one where he's fighting with the resistance, and he has to fight off all the kids raping Sophia Loren, or someone like that: Hornet's Nest?

Great, forgettable fun.

According to the Enquirer, his hottest love scenes were with Jim Nabors.

Aka: Gomer Pyle, USMC.

I suppose it all boils down to a matter of choice, but I'd rather have sex with Susan Saint James, than Gomer Pyle.

Susan Saint James and rock didn't get on apparently. Don't know how true that was but it's said they hated each other

now who the fuck would guess that a thread on rock hudson would go to more than 40 posts this late at night? :hmm:

Regarding double meanings and innuendos, he doesn't look a bit like a gay stereotype in that pic, oh no.

That said, I have nothing against him as an actor. It was just his great misfortune to be gay in a time when it simply wasn't accepted by many people, if at all by many.

I can't help having a certain sympathy for anyone who was effectively forced to live a double life for as long as he was, which can't be healthy for anyone really.

Actually i believe that most people in hollywood knew he was gay. But back in those days people kept their mouths shut.
