I'm really not sure Beckham should even be in the team, let alone captain, given the way Aaron Lennon is ripping every left back apart week in week out...
I'd have Gerrard. Maybe Gary Neville would also be in with a shout too.

That said, i'd go for gerrard in an ideal world, but i think changing now would obviously do more harm than good, even beyond the World Cup, Beckham is far from past it, and taking the captaincy from him would probably have negative effects on his performanes which would only harm England IMO

He rarely plays to his potential for England, you'd be right in such in assertion (but thats still 'good enough' because, you know, he's Gerrard,) but thats for obvious reasons; he has to do the defensive work because fat frank can't, the last time FF didnt play (uruguay) is the first time in a very long while you can say England really 'played well,' that was down, in large part to Gerrard, Carrick and much as I hate him, joke hole.

Or you could say sven rarely plays him in his best position, infact he's played justabout everywhere but; right back, left fucking wing, but attacking midfielder ?

Scolari has shown he's got no time for names, dropping Romario and Subbing figo, something sven would never do, fat frank will be the first to go (closely followed by owen,) he's in it for his own personal glory, too many wild swings from outside the box looking for a trademark deflection and owen is too lazy.
