Robert Newman's History of Oil

It was amazing. :)
I wish I'd been there live. The theatre looked ace.
(I think it's on again on Saturday).

The little film he did of himself playing Tony Blair dressed as a nazi was great.

Saw this last night and was very impressed. Funny and informative. Why isn't this stuff more widely discuused? Was the show really powered by bicycles? (I missed the beginning too, when this may have been explained)

The stuff about peak oil is well scary, and we're just burying our heads in the sand.

Since he freed himself from the influence of Dave Baddiel post MWH, he has shown himself for what he really is: An intelligent, funny, socially and environmentally aware performer and philanthropist.

Saw him a few years back in Soho - was very good, kinda like a slightly gentler Mark Thomas.

from uknova faq:

Why can't my friend join?

There is a limit of 30,000 users. When the limit is reached we stop accepting new members. Also, the limit is revised from time to time and may go down as well as up. Accounts which are inactive for 42 days are automatically deleted to make way for new users. There can be up to 300 new accounts available per day so if your friend keeps trying at regular intervals they have a good chance of becoming a member!

I really admire Rob Newman, he gave up (nearly) all tv work just to concentrate on the stuff he really believes in: anti-capitalism, global warming, peak oil etc.

The last I saw of him was at a reading of his book, Manners in 2000. He did a few jokes (involving me in one of them! ), then read a bit from the book, and then had a wee bit of a rant as far as I can remember. I thought he was pretty cool.

Then my bf at time decided to ask him why he didn't do work with David Baddiel anymore. Oh god he did not look happy. :(

Will definately download this though.

Well, I've just seen this. It's good, and very to the point.

And now I'm really depressed, and a little frightened. :(

If its the show i think it is, he did a lot of it in his stand up tour with Mark Thomas that i saw in Brum, very funny, and very frightening at the same time.
