Robert Jordan has died

Never heard of him, but 58 is looking very young to die from my vantage point. Condolences to his family and admirers.

Infighting is going on... the Aes Sedai are split into two factions (rebels and the tower). Egwene is in charge of the rebels. The Tower faction is split into another couple of factions, slyly, one of which is being secretly run by the Black Ajah, under the influence of Mesaana.

Rand is boning everyone.

HTH. :D
:D

I hear the new books are quite good. But I split up with fuckface so he lent them to his brother instead of me.

I honestly can't remember shit about what was going on. I really should only read series that are actually finished or I end up in some endless rereading cycle (*kicks RR Martin*)

i loved the first few volumes of 'the wheel of time' but then never finished 'lord of chaos'.

i have 'a game of thrones' on my bookshelf waiting to be started...

spotted 'The Gathering Storm' in Waterstones. Massive tome. Apparently the wife, surviving notes and some bloke worked together to complete the cycle in three massive mortgage-payers.

I shall read them to find out what happens in Tarmon Gaidon

hahahahaha, it was inevitable they would milk the last drop of money and credibility from the series before allowing its writhing flayed corpse to finally rest, but still, hahahahahahaha :D

Used to sell his books a lot n a few friends have raved about them to me, although massive fantasy series novels using about 4 trees in paper aren't really my thing! :D

Makes the Bible look like light reading...

Robert Jordan: never knowingly used three words when he could use a thousand... :D

Paperback is not out until October, and I'm sticking to my not buying any more hardbacks or the shelf'll collapse rule.

If it is ridden with nynaeve braid tugging I will be most annoyed. Shittest character out of the lot. Perrin was also a stolid twat but at least he put it down hard and strong on the violence stakes.

Oh god, yeah. I'd forgotten that. He should really have given Nynaeve's hair a name, and storyline of it's own, the amount he wrote about it... :D

Nynaeve manages to control herself for most of the book, and Perrin isn't in it much (looks to be featuring in the next one). More Mat, Egwene and Rand as the central characters.
Just finished it, and it tied up a hell of a lot more loose ends than the previous books (although a few new strands have been introduced to "the pattern"! Arghhh!). I'm actually looking forward to the final two with the kind of eagerness I lost at about Vol. 5.
