Roasted butternut squash gave me an orgasm in the mouth

KILLAH buttanut squash soup

Now massive, dis a de champion soup, you taste buds a go dead tonight, you hear? Listen up.

Roast half a largeish butternut squash by cutting it lengthways into 4 segments, placing skin side down in a roasting dish, drizzling with oil, and grinding salt and black pepper on it.add some twigs of fresh thyme and roast at 300degC until beginning to brown. Set aside.

While roasting the squash, bring some red lentils to the boil. Boil for 10 minutes, then remove from the heat. set aside.

Gently (Gently, y'ear? don't bun dem up!) sautee 12 thinly sliced shallots (or just 1 finely chopped onion) and a chopped leek in oil, in a big pot with the lid on. when soft, add a diced potato and a diced carrot and sautee these for a while.

When softened slightly, add the squash, a finely sliced de-seeded green chilli, some fresh thyme and some salt. Add hot vegetable stock (home made) and the lentils. Bring to the boil then simmer for abotu half an hour or until the potatoes are soft.

Now, the fun part. Get a hand blender and blend about two thirds of the soup.

Grind some black pepper into the soup, taste and add more salt/pepper if necessary.

Serve with GOOD bread. Bad man nuh serve soup wid nuh bomboclaat fassyhole bread!!!
 
It's a bog standard gas oven

I dont know if it actually reaches 300 as I dont have a thermometer, but it says 300 on the dial and believe me it fucking burns HOTTA DAN BLAZIN' HELL FIYAH BURN, RUDE BWOY.

lol I bloody doubt it, I know my own oven. If it was farenheit then all the bread that I cooked at 180degrees would be being cooked at 82 degrees celcius lol :D
