Shit loads of my mates are up for this! Should be a gooden, need my faith restored in London free festivals after the disaster of love music, hate racism.

I agree. We'll see how this one goes, it's always been pretty good in the past.

Got to be better than Love Carling, Hate Racism though.

Yeah but ewhat happened to the sound at the end? Jimmy Cliff cut off in mid song? How rude.

Bollox, the man's a legend. There are some of us who remember gentler days and don't think fucked up woofer = music, you know.

so where the fuck was this? we saw an african stage, a london lives stage and the main stage.

no cuban stage (which is where we'd arranged to meet people). no reknaw stage. nowt of interest.

Desert stage, magnificent. Weather stayed fine and nobody tried to take beer off us at the entrance. Pretty fuckin good value in my opinion.

Yeah I agree, throught it was great.
So many people though, I just hope they all voted for Ken, or at least appreciated that this was his legacy, and I bet there'll be no such event next year.:(

I certainly did aurora (voted for him and appreciated the legacy). Oh and I even heard Barnbrook was coming this year now that the nasty anti racism agenda had been done away with. Hope so! Maybe he went away less bitter.

Don't patronise me, thanks - I've seen Cliff lots of times and he's usually been better than he was at Glastonbury. Are you actually trying to pull some sort of age rank on me?

The bit where Jimmy Cliff got shut down mid set was certainly 'badly organised'. From what I hear Boris wants to close down all these funded parties so I did wonder if it was just to cause trouble and make an excuse. Dunno if there was any trouble; people were leaving peacefully when we left. Saw at least 20 coppers running towards the main stage at one point but they came back again 5 minutes later carrying one drunk white guy between them and they let him down as soon as they were away from the crowd. Was a peaceful day, the sun was out and the desert stage was amazing.

Alright. Peace. Whatever. Cabaret Reggae.

Alright. Peace. I think I was probaby unconsciously responding to the cabaret reggae comment which wasn't you.

Actually, that was me. Because that's what he was like at Glastonbury - as a longterm reggae fan, I found it stagey, cheesy and uninvolving, a shadow of his former greatness.

As for that pathetic crack about 'woofers', bearing in mind these days I mostly DJ country, soul, gospel and jazz, I think I appreciate 'the gentler days' or whatever wank it was you came out with.

I wish everyone would fuck off home now. Its well noisy around Blackstock Rd and the local offy has ran out of cold beer.
