Wow this has hit me surprisingly hard. I always had a soft spot for Pete Shelley. Love his voice. This has hit me much harder then even Bowie 's death. Dunno why really, maybe cus he wasn't by any means as huge and therefore felt more real to me perhaps. Fuck. Gutted.

Was listening to Another Music... and Love Bites recently while making my 'albums of 1978' list. Two absolutely timeless classics.

Yeah, me too. Was never a big Bowie fan, but Buzzcocks were, for me anyway, one of the great punk bands and that is largely down to his lyrics and tunes. Genuinely gutted. 63 is no age these days.

Just had a listen to 'Ever Fallen In Love.' Still sounds fucking great. Thanks for that Pete.

Let's face it, we've all fallen in love with someone we shouldn't have fallen in love with, and that was his art as a lyricist.

Gutted here too. Another Music always reminds me of a girl I was seeing back when it came out. We saw them together, and then not long afterwards she dumped me. Those songs really helped me back then. Cheers Pete.

I saw him solo once and his backing band totally cocked up 'Something's Gone Wrong Again' to much amusement from him and the audience. Backing band not so much. :D

    Here it is done properly:

I have that very CD. And some old vinyl. Saw them at Bulmershe FE college, maybe 1981?

I only saw the Buzzcocks recently and they weren't that good tbh. The solo gig I saw him do at The Elephant Fayre 1984 (I think) was really good though. Mix of his own stuff/Buzzcocks faves. Slightly shambolic backing band. Good stuff.
