Rio Ferdinand is England captain

Only a matter of time till Shrek gets it. That'll be fun. It'll make Beckham's post match press conferences look Churchillian.

What do you think of anton and rio together as a future central pairing?

Anton has started to really get back to form since his court case finished IMO

I think it will probabley happen at some point. Possibly a bit similer to be a decent partnership though. I think both benefit from a solid hard centre back next to them(upson/vidic). Anton isn't ready for a call up yet though he isn't good enough in the air and still makes a few too many mistakes. His time will come.

entirely appropriate-
it accurately reflects the state of this country
having a peckham born, drug-test failing gangbanger as england captain shows what fucking trouble we're in

Surely preferable to the previous cunt though. He didnt fail a drug test btw.

Yes he did. If you're booked into an exam and you don't attend, you score zero. And fail.

He didn't attend, and automatically was considered as failed.

Semantics.

I dont think anyone actually believes he missed the test because he was worried about failing.

yeah what a disgrace, a half black half paddie from a council estate as the England captain.

What a pile of classist racist shite.

I really doubt rio would have been caught for anything performence enhancing if had turned up to his drugs test. Something recreational though im almost sure he had in his system.

I am enjoying that drug right now. Guess which one it is!

Who else gets a try as captain then? Rooney(no no no) & terry seem the obvious people. No point in giving hargreaves or barry a try as they may well not get many games. Certainly a lot more likely to get dropped then the others i have mentioned.

If I was picking the team then Hargreaves would be in and I'd give the armband I think. He plays in a position from which it's possible to survey the game, appears calm under pressure, and importantly for me has a much more varied wealth of experience than almost anyone else in the current array of players.

Less self control, and i'm comparing him to Keane.

He's a fucking liability when his bloods up.

nah he's maturing quite a bit, Keane could be a fucking liability at times to, it's just that is more part and parcel of a central midfielders game.

Rooney is only 22 and is almost the heart beat of the team.

More of a sustained metaphor. When Rooney's faltering, it's usually the other one who maintains the teams beat.

HEY LOOK EVERYONE, A REASONED CONVERSATION ABOUT MANCHESTER UNITED.

:D

Nah Ronaldo always represents a threat by himself but Rooney lifts the whole team with his drive and movement.

Summer friendly matches against Columbia and Peru on the cards?

Agreed, and when I see him play these days, he really seems to have lost the hotheaded aspect that plagued him before.
