I've come across this a couple of times at Subway City in Brum.
I remember one time a couple of years ago, in the summer. It was ridiculously hot and sweaty, they'd turned off the cold water in the bogs leaving only the hot on! Quite a few people were throwing up. The barmaid refused to give my gf some tap water even though she was standing a couple of feet away from the tap. My gf just picked up an empty pint glass off the bar, filled it with ice from the bucket and stormed off. I was disgusted... had a word with the barmaid but she was having none of it

Oh ignore BigFoodFred, he's just a bonehead who tries very hard to be controversial.
But the sad reality is that, as much as I hate clubs charging for water, a fair few exctasy victims die from imbibing too much water. Providing free water isn't going to stop a club get sued...

Maybe I'm missing something but if I'm too hot I go to a cooler place. If i'm thirsty I buy a drink.
It's a club not a prison. If the place is a risk to your mortal soul just go to a safe place. Or is that too easy ?
Why do you wish to stay in a place that is so dangerous or is it that you are using drugs that dehydrate you ?
Bugger - just looked back and realised I forgot the water meter that measures to water that they don't pay for as well.
