removing adware

Can I now delete that reg backup that's in docs? Or leave it?

I doubt you'll need it, but I tend to keep the most recent few just in case (just how many depends how often I get round to turfing some out) - since it's a fairly small file, it's not going to do any harm to keep it.

Gamerhippo advertiser:- It leaves a 3" by 3" screen with sound to bottom right of urban 75 screen or any internet browsing screen, It's driving me crazy because its not in uninstall.

Acer aspire-4 gig- 32bit op
Windows Vista ' that won't upgrade (kinda sad box really but no dosh for a new one)

It's old as am I so i'm not even going to try looking in the registry. Can I be rid of Hippo easily or do I need a computer person?

I suppose I'll need a computer bod but there is no harm in asking is there?

They want money and I don't trust online sites, see i'm not puter savvy at all.
I usually end up with even more crap to deal with.
Thanks for your help, i'll probably go to a bod when i get to the end of my tether.

Tried this one:- http://gamerhippo.com/deinstall. If I was 100% confident of it working I would cough up, but this puter is out to get me:facepalm:.
I tried the registry thing on another puter once and killed everything, not doing that again:mad:

If there is no sure fire free thing, then i'll leave it, but big thanks to yoo's

control panel, add/remove programs

where does the money bit come in ?

I can't find any reference to gamerhippo being anything other than legitimate.

If you mean Malwarebytes - it's only the realtime version you pay for.
It finds stuff your AV passes as OK.

I use this at work - always have it on a flashdrive in my pocket.

malware bytes, like a lot of security programs, has a free version which works fairly well for most purposes, and a fancier, paid-for version. you can download the free version from here (filehippo - a fairly well established source of free downloadable software) - with some of them, you have to be a bit careful going through their website to find the free version.

if you mean gamerhippo (whatever the heck that is, and as far as i know, no relation) is asking for money to uninstall itself, press the 'fuck off' button (or nearest equivalent)

try malware bytes on it.
