Well, he will *now* - he's been criticised in the press, he can get money, of course he's going to put some in. I predict that he'll try to devolve as much as possible though, so that any screwups can't be associated with him.

That doesn't make any sense.

He declaried it a federal disaster before the storm hit.

Thats the extent of his power in the budgetary process.

Once he does that congress apropriates the money.

I'm not going to get into some discussion about exactly who assigns money where and when. The point is that he's the president, there are federal issues here, and if support doesn't get through he looks bad. Therefore he will try to now put money into it - but he will also try to disassociate himself from any screwups that take place with that money.

I think he's going to have a hard time with FEMA, because they've made themselves look very bad on a number of occasions.
