Agreed- structure and corsetry is infinitely preferable to shapeless.
It would have been richer and more sumptuous in a deep green, a gold or a red- even black.

Anne Hathaway looked gorgeous as did Kate Bosworth and Tina Fey. Jennifer Aniston looked nice but safe as did Angelina - no clear winner on that front.

Thought there would have been some good dresses this year, seems a very boring selection. Tilda Swanson actually looked alright compared to some of the things she's worn! Heidi Klum - she's a supermodel and yet wears something so trashy? Why???

Hmm - but she is overweight - nothing she's going to wear is going to make her look slim. I think it's close to being the most flattering option. Except the net skirt bit. Now beyonce's dress makes a slim-but-curvy girl look like a size 18. much more 'fattening' dress.
She should have just stayed away from the blue-ness and the ruffles...

Am I the only one who finds it vaguely comforting that despite having a fantastic figure, money to burn, stylists at your fingertips, designers falling over themselves to lend you posh frocks and jewels dripping from every oriface most of these red-carpet types still look rubbish?
