Haha, Boycey, I was thinking exactly the same thing - I need some 'couples' music for the Brief Encounters night... not that what Cesare is offering quite fits the bill!

Cesare, I don't know where you are, but I'll send you a message. And thanks again.

edit - in fact, Boycey are you coming to Bethnal Green? If so, I'll buy you and Cesare a pint if you'll take them along there?

I'm in East London, on the D3 bus route that goes to Bethnal Green, so quite handy.

IMO Force is one of their weaker albums, Sextet and To Each... are great.

I'll forget about it for the time being, then. There were cheaper records I'm more interested in. Besides, until October I'm cutting on record shopping.

I've noticed records are quite easily more expensive second hand than new too, it's crazy... I guess supply is decreasing maybe?

Apart from Oxfam which i dont even bother looking in any more or P.D.S.A(charging 10£ for an LP even Queens Greatist HITS:D) i do allright from the tat shops, past month or so ive found *has a quick flik through*Humanoid-Stakker Humanoid 1£,Royal House-"Can U Party?"LP 1£,Madness "One Step Beyond"LP 50p Conquering Lion"Code Red" 12" 20p!! Devo "Whip it"12" 50p De La SouL"Eye Know" 12" 50p and fuck loads of Motown and Stax singles too many to list for 50p a go! oh and Praga Khan "Injected With a Poison" 25p:D is it just a London thing with pricey charity shops? any one else anywhere still finding cheap gems?

Gah I forgot about those records. I'm going to ask Rutabowa to pick them up when he gets his, is that ok? I have a child on tow but it's not impossible to get over to east london. Just depends on your timescale.

i recommend norman records in leeds for mailorder. reasonable prices, great service. avoid rough trade like the plague. for new stuff, it's often worth buying straight from the label.

i'm not long back from new york. i spent about $300 on vinyl. still not a patch on the $700+ in amoeba in san francisco last year though. i rarely buy new vinyl in the uk and usually end up in MVE instead.

That's all OK, whatever's easiest for you. I'm not in a rush just yet.

Think some of these have gone already, but out of what's left on vinyl I would love to grab some of these if possible!

Updated :)

Electroplated, you can have all the ones you want except for a couple of singles that are already spoken for by Boycey and Snowy Again. I've updated the lists.

Cesare, some of those you given to Electroplated were supposed to be for me. :hmm:

Edit: oops, fail, sorry electroplated - list revised, eek.

edit#2 - sorry about that Onket, when I went to put those with Paranoid, I saw that I'd already packaged em together, I guess I just forgot to update the list.

yes, Oxfam has an Ebay store. have had for over 5 years now.

bastards.

I did get the first Ultra Vivid Scene CD in a charity shop for £1
I have it on vinyl but I have seen it go for £40 on CD at amazon (though only £18 now) so snapped it up.

I also bought a shonen knife CD for a quid today.

Does it have that tune that goes "we only making plans for dirty dirty dirty bison"??? Bear Up Bison, I think it's called. Those wacky Japs.
