Record shops near London Bridge

Other than in the station (is there an HMV there?) are there any record shops near London Bridge? Not after specialists just a decent size HMV/Fopp/Virgin I can walk to in my lunch hour

Not that I know of, would be interested if there was but I've never found one. Most record shops have closed down anyway and the HMVs etc only seem to sell DVDs and mobile phones

There's one right at London Bridge station - you know, if you come out by the bus station and look up to where there are a few shops around the arches? There's that big bike shop, a phone repair shop and so on. On the upper storey there's a record shop - either a Fopp or a Richer Sounds (can't remember which), or at least there was about six months ago when I noticed it. I don't think there's one inside the station itself, though.

Unfortunately it's Richer Sounds so no good for my purposes

I haven't been that way for a while but there used to be a music shop on the north side of the bridge in the parade of shops between the river and the traffic lights at the end of the bridge. Mainstream kind of place.

that was a Music & Video Club shop. Long gone..

The closest music shop is probably HMV at Leadenhall Market, a 10-15 minute walk from London Bridge station.

Yup, it's not the biggest one in the world mind but it is next to a decent Waterstones.

25 minutes walk away (or a few minutes on the northern line) is HMV in moorgate. That's about the best I can think of.

e2a - there's also a virgin near liverpool street station (on broadgate)

Isn't there a record shop on the other side of the bridge, (towards Bank) next to Boots? It's not open on Saturdays or Sundays though.
