I'm about to start Heinlein's Time Enough To Love, which I've never read despite it being one of his better known novels.

I've stopped reading it already.

It's awful.

her style is so cold and uninvolving and dogmatic. I know there she was making serious points about anarchism etc, but I don't need a whole paragraph explaining different verb conjugations in a collective society.

I hate that. When you are all keyed up for a book and you start ploughing into it. You think to yourself "yeah that's a bit lame, but I'll stick with it". So you soldier on only to have the going made heavy by further nagging objections in your own mind until you finally think "fuck it, this is shit".
