recommend me some surf rock.

Hang Eleven (Mutant Surf Punks) on Cherry Red is quite a laugh, from some seriously heavy instrumental stuff thru to beauties like "The Day They Raised The Thames Barrier"...if you can find it, it might tickle your toes.

Link Protrudi and the Jaymen are  Obviously Link Wray and if you get some of the Crypt compilations or some of the Teenage Shutdown compilations there are some great surf rock type tracks on those ( as well as straight 60's garage  )

Back From The Grave comps are great for that sort of thing too.
Surfing Lungs are cool
Dead Man's Curve too.

Beachbuggy are kind of surf meets the Fall

hoorah!!

i can give you some new model army records in return :D

It's a deal

Dub , I don't suppose youv'e got a copy of Surfin' the Nile by Link Protrudi and the Jaymen , I've been looking a for a copy for ages and it would great if you had it !

The Barracudas - great live band who were around late 70's/early 80's. Sound people as well though what possessed Jeremy Gluck to up sticks from Canada to form a surf band in post-punk London is beyond me. See if you can get hold of their debut, 'Drop Out With The Barracudas'. Full of great pop songs like 'Somebody' and 'I Wish It Could Be '65 Again', even got in the lower reaches of the charts with some of their singles.

i've always know the names of man or astroman and shadow men on a shadowy planet but never knew what they sounded like. i always assumed that they would both be sort of difficult experimental US art rock or something for some reason..

they both rule.
Man Or Astroman seemed to be insanely prolific and the latter records got more and more to be sort of difficult experimental US art rock or something for their pure surf/space rock thang check out the older ones.
try 'Intravenous Television Continuum' or 'Your Weight On The Moon'

For Shadowy Men get 'Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham' - it's ace

Man Or Astroman are ace live too if you ever get the chance

i've been looking for some surf rock for months now. mark lamaar's alternative sounds got me hooked.

can't find anything yous lot have mentioned though.

and i really dont want to have to go on soulseek!
