Recommend me some Sonic Youth

I still like Confusion is Sex, my boyfriend gave it to me when I was 17 (awww) To me this CD puts the Sonic into Sonic Youth, Death valley 69 and I wanna be your dog covers are on there, plus lots of trippy guitar work that never seems to end.

On the other end of the spectrum is a bootleg of Made in the USA, a movie soundtrack with lots of dreamy ditties that put you in mind of the American Midwest. Its cool but no vocals.

They use odd chord changes to sound artrock but most of the time it just sounds freaky and unmusical.

There new stuff is actually excellent too. Rather Ripped which I think is there latest record is brilliant.
Murray St is also a great album. They have mellowed a fair bit.

Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star is virtually unlistenable and the only one I would advise you to steer clear of until you get your taste for them.

Wasn't it Lee Ranaldo that did that song that went on forever? I mean literally. It was on vinyl and had a deliberate scratch on it so it would play infinitely.

Fucking mental, it was. :D And bloody rubbish, too. My mate bought it and I think we managed to sit through about 5 minutes of it. Bit of a sod to make an mp3 of it, too, I'd imagine. :D
