I think even Destiny's were predated by a couple fo years by, in my opinion superior, TLC. "No Scrubs", with Shekspere, was an immense hit and even before that there was "CrazySexyCool" made with Dallas Austin (now working with the Sugababes), Jermaine Dupri and Babyface. Plus they had the added dimension of Left Eye MCing a bit.

Oh the wonder of opinions. I like it and what I've heard of the Go! Team (god I hate exclamation marks) has been some way from impressing me.
If you want some stuff that's a bit more guitar based in the pop stratosphere, may I recommend anything by the Donnas (a female pseudo-Ramones of the 00s) and also the Faders' "No Sleep Tonight" which rather spectacularly failed to tap into the Busted/McFly market earlier this year despite being quite good.
