Recommend me Limoncello

It's the zest you want, not the fruit. And you need lots of sugar and to shake the bottle every day.
 
Yes. I'm steeping the zest for a week in the vodka, and then I'll add the syrup. And I gave it its first shake this morning.
 
Just put in the sugar syrup. The lemon zest floated to the top but the whole doesn't look very yellow. Certainly not the rich yellow of the drink I had in Venice.
 
I can't stand limoncello, but if I was forced to make it, I wonder if a low-faff version could be contrived by dissolving lemon curd into a bottle of vodka...
