Recommend me a red wine

I find in threads relating to food or drink you should listen to what Detroit City has to say and then do the exact opposite of that :p

I'm challenging DC for the title:

What you drinking your red wine with? What meats?

If you want your £££ to stretch a little further, have a look at new world wines from Chile and Argentina. Malbec is probably my favourite from the Americas.

The problem with Old Worlds, in particular the French, is that they rely too much on reputation - therefore they mark up their prices. But if you want to take the gamble, check out their Burgandys and move upwards from there.

I agree about Chile and Argentina, but they tend to be big on tannins.
