I watched it the other day and thought it was brilliant; doesn't take itself too seriously, has plenty of gore and oodles of bad acting - exactly what I expected and wanted....

Zombie Zero: Made by the Japanese rock band Guitar Wolf as a promotional piece. Highlights are zombies in love and a guy who pulls a samurai sword out of his guitar to cut a UFO in half. If you look closely, you'll find most of the zombies are white guys. That's because they used extras from the US service base on Okinawa. The acting is crap, but the rock-and-roll posing is hilarious.

I think you mean Wild Zero.

The original Dawn Of The Dead is probably my fave Romero, while [Rec] is one of the more interesting modern zombie movies.

I've just read about this - they've remade it, with the Yank version avoiding any of the religious themes of the original

Don't want to be a geek, but wasn't it originally called 'Dead Alive'?

No, that was the title for the USA for some reason. The original title was Braindead - I know as I went to see it in 1993 in some obscure cinema when it first came out. Only went as had a kiwi friend at school who had heard it was good.

No it was originally called "braindead", it was retitled dead alive for the US release, on request from distributor, something to do with another film being the same name.

That's weird as there are quite a few films with the same name (e.g. Crash)
