Recommend a Zombie flick

Man I love Zombie Films. Ive been collecting them for ages now.

A few of my favorites include.

Zombie Creeping Flesh
Cannibal Xerox
Living Dead At Manchester Morgue
Zombie Flesh Eaters (My Personal Favorite)
Dawn Of The Dead (the remake is pretty good)
Day Of The Dead
Land Of The Dead
Evil Dead 1 & 2
House Of The Living Dead
Zombie Island Massacre

To name a few.

Most of these are availible through Vipco with a few through other stockists. Failing that I would consult you favorite bittorrent.

I can't remember the name of it,but it's an Austrailian one,the guy keeps his zombie mother in the basement with some other zombies.

It's a great zombie film, and one of the bloodiest gorefests ever. (love the lawnmower scene)

But what was it called!!

Dont want to be a geek about it but its actully set in New Zealand. Its Braindead and is the sequal to Bad Taste both of which are excellent. I think that the end scene in braindead could be the gory-est thing ever to make it to film. The expression "Up to your nuts in guts" has never fitted so well.

Zombie flesh eaters is great as is Fulci's the Beyond, stay away from -

Chldren Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (pants)
House By the Cemetary (boring, and just1 zombie)
City of the Living Dead (too fucked up a film with teleporting zombies)

Disappointed with Land of the Dead, a good film but Romero+Zombies+Modern effects should have equalled far more.

Don't want to be a geek, but wasn't it originally called 'Dead Alive'?

Versus is a bit mad. Japan's take on the zombie flick. Kung Foo included :D

FUCK!!!!

Can't believe I left that one out!!

The Boy's plot synopsis of 'Versus':

A bunch of cool as fuck young Jap guys in a forest shooting fuck loads of Zombies and punching fuck out of each other in spectacular fashion. The story line is alright an' all.

Ryuhei Kitamura has done some fab films in his time: Versus, Alive, Aragami, Azumi, Godzilla: Final Wars etc.

Anyway, I digress. I would also like to add another vote for Zombie Flesheaters.

No it was originally called "braindead", it was retitled dead alive for the US release, on request from distributor, something to do with another film being the same name.

I stand corrected.

*will get the geeky thing right one day*

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers is good as well. I prefer the 70s Donald Sutherland remake , even though it lacks the McCarthyite overtones of the 50s original

I wouldn't class it as a zombie flick meself, but it's still a fantastic movie - and yeah, I prefer the 70's version too (did you see the piss-poor 90's remake? Abominable!). The star of the 50's version also makes a cameo in the 70's version as the chap we see being chased down the street screaming "They're coming!". And whilst it doesn't have the not-so-subtle anti-communist pinnings, it's still a great chunk of paranoia pie.

The zombies would eat the cannibals who'd then turn into zombie cannibals and eat the zombies.

OMG I think your on to something there :D Seriously

Zombie Flesh Eaters is doing well in the stakes although its not actully a competition.

The zombies would eat the cannibals who'd then turn into zombie cannibals and eat the zombies.

Technically speaking, if a cannibal ate a zombie would they be infected with the zombie virus?

And do zombie cannibals eat humans? Wouldn't they just go for zombies?

Also do cannibals eat other foods like beef, pork, carbs and vegetables or is it strictly the Dr Atkins diet?

I would guess that if a cannibal ate a zombie it would turn in to a zombie. Its past through the blood isnt it???
So yeah then it would be a cannibal zombie.
Enter stage right Werewolf and you have one messed up.......umm......thing.

That would be fucking awsome.

A Cannibal Zombie Werewolf.

Would you have to shoot it in the head with a silver bullet?

But in all the zombies flicks I've seen, when blood from a freshly severed zombie head splashes into someone's mouth, they don't become a zombie.

What if a zombie was biten by a werewolf? Could he change?
And can zombie-werewolves run?

Zombies can't run! Only their contemporary imitators for the MTV generation can do that, but they are not real zombies, not like in my day....

If a zombie is bitten by a werewolf, it becomes a Furbie.

Have there been any movies with killer furbies? I'd pay damn good money to see them getting showered with flaming napalm!

The nearest that springs to mind is Ewoks or "The Gate"

Well, what with the much anticipated "Dead Set" starting tomorrow, I thought I'd get myself in the mood with a couple of zombie flicks over the weekend.

Can highly recommend the OP's choices, especially Dellamorte Dellamore/Cemetary Man. Beautifully shot, quite touching (for a zombie flick!) and some brillliantly witty dialogue from Rupert Everett (of all people). I particularly liked the scene with the decapitated zombie head of the Mayor's teenage daughter:

Might watch Plane Dead (Zombies on a plane) later on - quite enjoyed that when it came out last year.

Werewolf movie rather than a zombie one, but don't miss 'Dog Soldiers' (squaddies vs werewolves) if you haven't already had a chance to see it.

NOt strictly zombies, but 'outpost' is good. I think thats what it was called - the one with mercenaries in eastern europe.

The original Dawn Of The Dead is probably my fave Romero, while [Rec] is one of the more interesting modern zombie movies.
