Recommend a decent central London Greek restaurant.. or else.

 I WORKED in the much lamented Nontas as a teenager! Glad everyone here liked it so much ... I can testify the food was wholesome and good and have no horror stories about filthy behind-the-scenes practices to disturb you. I was a crap waitress tho - mostly because I'm not Greek, but look it, leading to many scenes like this:

GREEK CUSTOMER: <asks me something in Greek - probably like - can we have more vine leaves please....>
ME: *blank stare, wanders off*
GREEK CUSTOMER <shouting in Greek>

it wasn't very good for customer service.
Lemonia is not half as good as Limani but frankly ... (*impending heresy*) ... Greek food is pretty much the same wherever you eat it...

There's a place on Story St (I think - off TCR) - it's not very good but if you all get loaded and want to smash plates in the basement bar, it's fun. :)

bacchus in hampstead is good. think their meze meal is £20 each. and it is absolutely huge - took loads of food home with us!

if you dont mind turkish, then efe's on titchfield street is good: pretty cheap as well, if my memory is correct.

also great to laugh at the decoration on the wall - lots of old photo's of ex-famous people..

fyi Chris. I went to the Real Greek in Clerkenwell last night and had a fantastic mixed grill, close on 14 squid but was the nicest RG I've had in London thus far.
