Reclaim the beach this sat? (10th May)

I might go down for a bit, purely in order to stand about and complain about how it was much better in the old days when the internet riff-raff didn't come along.
Ha. That was exactly what bluestreak and Monkeygrinder did :p :p :p

That was a good old dance. Really friendly crowd. :)

Lived up to its location... I like the sand sculpture of the fat man getting a blow job.

oh- maybe we left too soon - but there was no vibe at all for the hour and a bit we were ther. it was very east dulwich, iykwim. we went to the redstar, which was tippety top.

Yes it was quiet when I arrived but as soon as the generator turned up people started dancing. Never been to one of these events before. I didn't know about them. A free party in the middle of London on the beach, DJs a bit of MCing. Walked along the beach a bit to see the Houses of Parliament from river eye level.

Just got excited by the being where we were, the bonhomie and the fact that I was relaxed enough to dance and feel good. Quite rare for me. :):)

Did anybody take any pictures?

In two years time you'll be bitching on one of these threads about how RTB's not as good as the first time you went back in 2008 :p

I didnt go down in the end. The word 'facebook' that was uttered further up the thread there scuppered any faint hope of making the journey. All I could picture were hordes of identikit clapham types clapping each other on the back for voting Boris in. Not for this cynical old bastard thanks :D

Seriously tho, glad u enjoyed it. My first one was fuckin awesome too. Couldnt quite get over I was dancing around a bonfire on the thames looking at Parliament. Very cool.

i have a great picture of monkeygrinder and me from RTB in 2006 - tis slightly out of focus and has the embankment lights in the backgrougd. In the foreground are him and me, grinning like loons, pilled off our tits.

I have it on the wall by my desk in my classroom. I get a juvenile kick out of the subversiveness of that.:D

Absolutely right about the possibility/almost certainty of falling into the "Not as good as it used to be" mindset. But just for last night I felt about two layers of cynicism fall away. Great feeling. :D
