Recent Paintings...

Fucking love...loving the recent work dear Stan..

High praise indeed. Thanks. I'm after all the compliments I can get on this one. Very naive/surreal style and potent colours. People seem to like it mind. It got more compliments on the street than anything else I've done. No better endorsement than that from real people on the streets for me. The art snobs still don't like it because they're told they shouldn't ;)

Tha looks lovely! Great texture contrasts;) lovely colour contrast - you caught the square solidness of the buildings against the unstructured trees/shrubs. I like it alot! In fact i owuld even consider sticking it on my wall... it's really eye catching.

Finished. I think.

Working well and truly outside of any 'rules' I know of. Bit nervous about this one.

Think I like it. Need to not see it for a few days to be sure.

I like it!
Reminds me of this painting for some reason, http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l50/seren211000/OTHERS/runningawaywiththehairdresser.jpg Think it's just the angle of your houses and the panorama.

I really like it as well - it's weird how the same painting can start out so differently - I didn't like it very much until this picture....

That blue on the building at the front is my favourite colour in the world :)

Yay!

Thanks all. I feel confident enough to go and ask for me dosh from client now :)

It's going on his living room wall!

That's a 'cracker' of a painting Stanley. You could sell prints of that quite easily I would think. You have developed a graphic style that is very appealing. Charge the client top dollar for this. :)

I'd buy a print of that.

:) I only just noticed the yellow wiggle of the top of the wall :)

I want to see a bigger photo!

There's a guy who knocks out pics of the Newcastle/Gateshead skyline in that fish eye lens style. They aren't as nicely painted though and your painting isn't as "bulgey".

This is all very encouraging. Ta very much!

I'm going to start selling more quality prints from my all singing, all dancing website, so I'll get this one photographed properly in studio. I'll post a few larger photographs just as soon as my batteries have recharged.

Think I'll do Plaza Nueva in the same format this weekend. Might be an idea to get some small prints done for tourists to buy on the street and in shops also. The bright colours seem to be very popular.

e2a; May get the new website up and running finally at the weekend :D

me an art crtique (well i was) but gave it all up but stand by what i say it when it needs saying and as others have said this is very good work and i know how hard all of this is.. you are getting me to think about painting again (you fucker) and if there was a print i would buy..

I like that very much indeed Stanley, I particularly like the apparition like figures in the shadow of the buildings.
You get a real sense of depth and texture of the plants, its really very good. Theres good contrast between the straight lines of the buildings and road opposing the sprawling scene behind the dividing wall and your use of shadow is very atmospheric.
