Almost there.
)Looks very nice - certainly from this distance it looks like some good texture contrasts ( did you take my advice then?)

Not that I really stand a chance. I left her being chatted up by Five different guys last night.I'm going to tone it all down a bit later![]()
...
What paints do you use?
...Will post a pic of the finished product this evening if I'm not inter-cambioing, or something.

just as long as you don't ruin your painting...
It's changed a lot. Not sure if I've ruined it.

well as long as the plants have texture and the sky/buildings are smooth, it woun't be too bad...![]()

well, it can be brickwork texture -as long as it's different from plant texture..Building on the right has changed lots. Loads more light and TEXTURE
It needed it.

It's sort of stone work texture in the same colours as the plants opposite. It works![]()

my teacher use to tell me to blur my eyes when i looked at my paintings so I could see what stands out the most - it helps to see if your composition leads you through the picture or you are just drawn to one spot.

Yes. That's very useful. Thank you.
You're talking about primary school art classes right?
bugger off.... my teacher did her MA at the Royal College of Art at 17... and she got her A-level students out with As....
i paint on occasion -just not for a long time...

Fucking rule sayers.
No place for such people in my world of art. It can't be taught. It comes from the heart.

I blur my eyes about fifty times every minute.
It's the easiest way to see the tones.

i'm sure you don't care about my opinion, but i'm torn between study 3 (in the OP) and study 5, but i really like the way the 'real thing' is coming along.
The 'boring' one - i agree. It's really skilful, a great bit of work, but it lacks passion somehow.
Finished. I think.
Working well and truly outside of any 'rules' I know of. Bit nervous about this one.

Think I like it. Need to not see it for a few days to be sure.
