You think? I thought it was a bit on the sedate side.

I see what you mean, but thats kinda the point isn't it? It's a smooth, rolling style mix. Lovely warm basslines etc...

bugger, just done a long ass post and lost it because it logged me out!!

anyway, would reccomend Renegade Hardware - upgrade ep if you like your tunes on a darker flex.

if liquids more your thing go and grab a copy of high contrast - tough guys dont dance. Cant get enough of the kiss kiss bang bang track on that ep!

its been out on promo for about a month now, so I should think you can get in shops any day soon if its not already. If not you can pick up a promo copy from the hospital record webshop.....

well i was hoping to be giving the amit and fanu albums a listen

fanu's album - disappointing. some very good tracks, a lot of bland, straight-from-the-nineties down-tempo filler. seems like two CDs of music that could easily be chopped to make just one CD full of good stuff. i could be wrong though, i've only played it at work so far when i've been busy doing other stuff and haven't given it my full attention.

amit - good, but nothing out of the ordinary once you've heard a few amit tracks. about a year too late in my review of that, though :D

actually to be fair i knew this wasn't going to be a strictly drum n bass album, so i shouldn't complain that only half of it is drum n bass. but i will. if you can make good drum n bass, stick to that, and don't go off making lamecore dated trip-hop type stuff, please.

thanks.

Not strictly an album but Marcus Intalex - Fabriclive 35 is pretty good!
There is however a real Marcus (+co) album out "The 11th Hour"- unfortunately, and I am a huuge fan of his, I dont like it - too many vocal tracks.
check audio samples here (All links have samples of all tracks):

Other big recent DnB albums are:

new Goldie (Rufige Kru)
http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR224335

new TC
http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR236269

new HIgh COntrast - just out:
http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR237632

and the very techy Calyx and Teebee hookup:
http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR228593

Goldie's is probably best of the bunch, but sounds too familiar - calyx and teebee's is the freshest - a brand new sound altogether.

Calibres got an album too - but its not DnB:

yeh the later after by dj hidden is uhmazing, some of the best drops around.

more to the jungle side, enduser's form without function is also worth a listen and dance

oh and evol intent make some good dark d'n'b choons

Got High Contrasts new one. Some OK tunes but those fucking smurf high pitched vocals are shite.

Not stictly an album, but on Demonoid (torrent site) there is a compilation of all Danny Byrd's Hospital 12" releases. Fucking lovely soulful drum and bass.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed with the new High Contrast - a few killer tracks and a lot of filler :(

It would seem he peaked with 'True Colours' - not a duff track on the whole album.

High Contrast is having his album launch party at the Thekla tonight. I may go. Or I may not - it's down to a young lady y'see :)

...oh, and last week Randall launched his first ever album - not heard anything from it.

Anyone heard the goldie album? Any thoughts on that?

Haven't heard Randall's album but saw him DJ at JAMM t'other week - can see why he was so highly rated in the mid-nineties, his mixing was scarily good.
