Not really relevant for this thread, but while I'm here, have you tried Sonar? I read something about Ray Charles using it, so it must be accessible.

Used to use it with a midi keyboard in school yes. Reason is also accessible for that kind of stuff. Though Sonar seemed more intuitive to me at the time, been over 8 years tho so don't quote me on that!
