Basically what Danny says.
Top result when I search for "English pop" on youtube:
A while back I made the mistake of not logging out of YouTube when curiosity got the better of me, and in consequence this artiste ended up being briefly recommended to me. Bloody algorithms. I wouldn't say he's necessarily awful, but he's definitely not my cup of tea so my judgement might not count for much.
The whole of Saian Super Crew's X Raison album is great, but this was always a standout track:
I fucking love that stuff
Deux are brilliant. This is my favourite of theirs:
Always hoped that they (Deux) would reform or remix their catalogue .On the other hand the fact that they were ' of that moment' makes what they did produce and with such limited production and recording tech so good . Regretably Gérard Pelletie died so its music frozen in time in all its naive optimistic understatedness that modern tech would probably undermine.
Both Mary Goes Around and Irrelevant Coda were from Aylum Party and then after an album each disappeared .How ever Philippe Planchon (Irrevelant Coda) resurfaced two years ago with rumours of a new album but sadly just left two songs .This is one , beautiful.
anyway if you
thats really good
or if you like an analogue rhythm ......
may never get the opportunity to post Deux videos again so ..............
and dont forget Kid Loco
In 1992 FNAC Music Dance Division made a jacket to promote the Respect for France compilation (which included people like Laurent Garnier):
and the phrase "French Touch" hung around before catching on to describe the style of French house music that really took off from 96ish. I loved that stuff in the late 90s. Here's some more:
Alan Braxe & Fred Falke - Intro
Cheek - Venus, Sunshine People (DJ Gregory Remix)
Motorbass - Ezio
Cassius - 1999
Etienne De Crecy - Liquidation totale
Daphreeephunkateerz - Psycho Phunk Reaction
and, of course: Daft Punk - Around the World
Proper 1978 French Punk....
and I can't find anything with Atilla on it on You Tube, but he plays bass in a Brussels based band called Contingent (and did in 1978) who are shit hot live and sing in French. I've also got a compilation CD of French punk bands called "Dites-le en trois chords" with some excellent french bands on.
