Even tho I've posted twice already on this thread, I always think its about ReWire which I use on all my midi music stuff :D

ETA, watched the very first episode the other day. It's ok. Not bowled over by it yet though despite what Charlie Brooker says. I'll persist for a season and then decide if I still feel the same way though.

Evidence on Urban suggests that it takes 2-4 episodes before The Wire starts exerting its inescapable grip.

Finally caved in and forced myself through the first few episodes. Then watched the whole first series over the weekend. I concede, it is indeed sublime

Welcome to the world of wirefiends.

Indeed!

At the end of s3 I said to Mr VP "they are aware there are 2 more seasons aren't they?" - shocked, amazed, sad, awed, shocked - yep, that 'bout sums it up.

Oh, and impressed.

Man, once you have seen season four....

I watched Series 1 of Six Feet. It was entertaining enough but I didn't have any desire to watch any more. It seemed very melodramatic - just searching for stories that would continually up the ante.

ordered one of these t-shirts yesterday

No it isn't  It was quite powerful, but not really up there with the best IMO. Although I did enjoy Six Feet Under generally.

Very little beats Avon and Stringer sharing a brandy in S3 IMV...Greek level tragedy I reckon...

Why the confusion? Surely it's all subjective anyway?

In my opinion, I've never seen better drama in film or television than that episode.

Fwiw I do recall EoD back in the day and I was as impressed as everyone else. But that was then and I was impressed by a whole lot less - it would though still be quite interesting to see how it stands up.

Elesewhere, I'm embarrassed for the guy trying to make any kind of artistic comparisions between The Wire and 6 Feet Under. If you don't 'get it' then that fine but, really . . .
