Rangers in the English league

Increasing the number of teams would be a great start, getting rid of the ridiculous for sides to play each other (at least) four times a season.

The thing is the old firm have a veto on the spl..The only way they would agree would be if something like the play offs allowed them to play each other 4x.
But it would make the league a lot more interesting and competitive if clubs played each other just twice in the league proper and then the top 5 got into play offs...

I'd rather we didn't have to listen to news about Scottish Football in England altogether. Keep it north of the border!!

Seriously, I always groan with boredom waiting for the results pages to finish dealing with the Scottish leagues before updating me with the English Premiership on Sky Sports News. It's a good minute of my time at least.

Shit idea , it will mean 2 extra clubs get relegated from each division below or some clubs don't get promotion . Wycombe suffered when the numbers in the premier league were reduced by missing the last playoff spot because the number of clubs promoted was reduced that season so I don't see why smaller clubs should be fucked over so a couple of scottish clubs can make more money !

So one minute youre Scottish, not British and the next you want to play in an english league, because you want to share our spoils hahahaha.
Keep on impressing no-one in your two team league and failing in Europe.
You want it all, youll get nothing.

It will never happen because its against FIFA rules.

Anyway, isnt the fact that English ,Scottish and Welsh teams compete in one league going to have a bit of influence on any decision by the powers that be to try and force us into one football association? The very reason why we can't have a one-off team to play in 2012 Olympics!

hmm, if Gers and Celtic left the Scottish FA and Joined the English FA it would be kosher, UEFA and FIFA might veto it though, or not if they want to force the home nations into one association

The Olympic issue is separate, and I don't think it would result in that anyway

Its Rangers
Scottish League 51
Scottish Cup 32
League Cup 25
Cup Winners cup 1
If you want to add all cups it comes to 216

only 1 European trophy and lets be fair it was the shittest of the 3

winning Scottish domestic trophies is hardly comparable to English domestic trophies (unless of course you compare them to the championship, layland daf cup and zenith data systems trophy)

We can only beat what is in front of us. If Rangers had the same TV money as English clubs we might do better in europe. We signed a lot of English internationals when English clubs were banned from europe so if we had the money and were in an English league we would again sign English and even overseas internationals.
We welcome the chase.

Rangers and Celtic will not join the English Premiership.

However, I would like to see the League Cups being replaced by a competition between all clubs in the English and Scottish Leagues, plus the Welsh and Northern Irish first divisions. I think that would be good fun and would add some extra spice to the competitions. Obviously issues like travelling distances for the smaller clubs and European qualification would have to be looked at, but I don't think that the problems would be insoluble.

Fucking hell, I'd be the greatest footballer ever if all I had to do was play McWeetown Athletic every week

Do you think that Rangers and Celtic would reapply to the Scottish Premier League when they get relagated to the Fizz - Pop league after their first season in the English Premier League?

perfectly serviceable pyramid structure here which welcomes clubs from the celtic fringe. Join the North West Counties League and take it from there lads

Realistically do you not think Celtic and Rangers would survive in the Prem?

I do, they wouldn't be in the top 4 but they's certainly survive for a few years, then who knows?
