Railway Walks

Sorry, but I've long given up on this piece of docu-lite fluff.
Is there anywhere to go for more substantial stuff?

Every time there's a TV programme on about something I know anything about, whether it's railways, cosmology, computers, or whatever, I come away disappointed. It'd be great if there were some decent, ahem, "hardcore" documentary stuff around for people interested in the finer detail.

I suppose it just won't fit the mass market demographic they want for TV stuff :(

Fair enough. I'm surprised you watched any of them again given your extreme dislike for the presenter.
I don't have an "extreme dislike for the presenter" - I just think she does a spectacularly poor job of presenting this particular show.

And you know what I think the problem is? She doesn't really have any interest or enthusiasm for railways, which is a bit of a hindrance seeing as that's what the entire series is supposed to be about.

Yep. She's personable, and does her best to appear interested, but she's clearly a) clueless and b) not really that bothered.

Really? Calling her an 'awful woman' suggests you don't like her really, doesn't it?

Love going on railway walks, but I can't bear that awful woman who does this TV show. Her depth of research is so light the show is in danger of taking to the skies.

Nothing wrong in that. I can think of a few presenters who put me right off the tv programme they present.

Well no what the series is about is former railway lines that are now trails for walking and cycling.

I think it would have been a better series if it had a couple of minutes explaining that at the beginning of each programme, then just got on with the walk and an appreciation of how nature endures despite our attempts to carve through it.
