railton road cordoned off between shakespeare and hamilton

FFS. What's going on in Brixton.

Things usually get tamer in the winter when the weather turns bad, but things are getting very gnarly :(

Me and the cat were watching telly a few minutes ago and I heard what sounded like gunfire.

No chance. He just looked a bit surprised, then went on with his purring and preening routine. :)

Five or six shots into the air, apparently, fired on Railton Road near the Hamilton. No-one hurt.

(according to a local resident who's talked to the cops)

If only some bizarre ricochet could have led to the shooters cock being blown off!

ah, it seems the shots fired were associated with police activity focused on a domestic dwelling (the other side of the T-junction with Milton Road to the Hamilton) on Railton Road.

Ah, those WERE gunshots. I did wonder.

the pc on the cordon last night was asking whether anyone had seen the car that sped off. he said he'd never been called up to Milton / that end of Railton before... but then he did look younger than me. They'd closed off the section coming into Milton and then a little bit of Railton.

Less shocking than the Electric Avenue thing that's had me reeling this morning, but not good nonetheless.

My friends who live on Milton Rd called the police a few years ago because they saw a man with a gun, so it's not unheard of.

No, I agree, there are guns around there, but the top end of Railton has been quiet of late. So quiet I hadn't noticed Sam the Wheels is away for ages and I need to get a new old wheel off him.
