mate, girls aloud are better than fucking PWEI. the old guy outside camden tube station who plays the spoons on his knees between shouting at pasing busses is better than fucking PWEI.

to be honest i don't think i have really heard many of the other bands. think i may have seen asian dub foundation at the venue in edinburgh and they were pretty good. i recall lots of jumping around and being surprised that they actually sounded a bit like tackhead. ATR i saw somewhere and it just sounded like about 100 bands i was listening to 20 years or alternatively an early cabaret voltaire LP put on at 45bpm. but not as good.

RATM i do not think i could name a single tune of which is weird as they're obviously pretty big.

all those bands just make me think of guys in shitty baggy sportswear and dippy girls jumping about in stripey tights and dreadlocks. never a good thing.

I respect all of them for being genuine about their politics, but i couldn't listen to any of them. PWEI i just cannot stand at all. Apparently some of their earlier stuff was ok, but i have heard their agit-pop stuff and its cringeingly bad. RATM are just embarassingly adolescent both musically and lyrically to me (probably cos i was an adololescent when everyone thought they were good), metal funk rap - yuk. ATR i respect for trying to totally create a new movement and break punk and hardcore out of the guitars and drums into the 21st century, but what Alec came up with was just so abrasive and essentially er, shit, it didn't catch on.

oh ADF? fucknose, i just don't like them.

I have to say that I've just gone through my iTunes and compared and contrasted, and I have to say that

all the PWEI stuff is shit. Some of the remixes are okay.

I don't have much ADF so I'm leaving that out, but teenage mosher as the RATM may be, it's less shit.

I love ATR more than any of those other bands that I also love and or like I think Alec Empire is awesome, which sort of clouds my voting.
