the only one of these bands with a sense of humour for a start and generally much smarter than anyone, even themselves, gives 'em credit for.

they were fun, for a start. and they didn't just churn out the same rap-funk-metal dirge, like RATM. they experimented, the tried, and most of the time they succecceeded.

PWEI had great tshirts and album covers and song titles, but the songs were all really pedestrian. really slow and boring and the rapper whas shit
RATM were great for the first two albums, very shouty and angry and catchy. they definetely hit their glass ceiling but they were brilliant at the time
ADF were amazing live, same deal tho, they were great at first but they were kind of all one thing

and some of the b-sides they've done were fantastic. "wild west" and "let it flow" for example.
and The Incredible PWEI vs Dirty Harry is such a good tune. they were so ahead of their contemporaries. compare what they were doing in the early 90s to what most other indie bands were doing.

but with tom morello on guitars who has one of the most unique, original and cool guitar sounds around.
can't say i biother to listen to what zak is saying that much but i love them musically including zaks flow over everything.

because they don't have any energy for me
some of the WuTang stuff is about 80bpm but it's still really fast.
The Poppies made me laugh but every now and then they irritated me beyond belief.

Used to really love RATM but knew that there was something innately sad about them.
