Radish quezzie

According to Hugh F-W horseradish is a common wild plant. I haven't spotted any yet but I'm hoping to find a little local wild supply.

Radishes with butter?

Bloody hell why didn't I think of that before?

looking forward to breakfast now :D

as the post below yours say, it is indeed the french way, although not normally for breakfast, but as an entree for lunch. you need proper butter that.

The 'horse' part in 'horseradish' means 'big'. Sorry, useless fact seeing as you now know the difference and can clearly see they are bigger.

I'd rather have a horseradish sandwhich than a beef sandwhich with no horseradish :D

To do it the French way, you need to swipe the radish through the butter so it gains a small dollop. Hot radish, sweet butter - made in heaven :)
Sainsburys sell French Breakfast Radishes in a bunch - ideal!

Yup.

Everyone I know thinks I'm weird for eating radishes this way, but it's the way I was brought and all that. Once had my flatmate watch me eat radishes as he wasn't sure what I did with my butter/salt.

For what it's worth, the way I do it is take a small piece of butter on the end ofmy knife, dip it in a bit of salt, and cut the radish lengthways (but not all the way) then slide the knife out so the butter is stuck in the middle of the radish.

As someone mentioned above, it is a fab way to eat 'em. better with really peppery radishes though. Then again I just prefer stronger radishes.
