Radio you listen to

Radio 1 in the morning mostly because its loud and wakes me up
classic fm when im doing some work..
or bbc six music which is just great
and radio 7 at night because of the comedy

I only have a radio in my car, and only listen to Radio 4 for the news and BBC Essex for the travel news (the A12 always has some fucking problem on it) and sometimes just listen in wonderment to how much drivel BBC Essex presenters can come out with without stopping for breath, I am not sure which parallel reality of essex they are living in but there sure seems to be a lot of garden parties and cups of tea there. Mostly prefer to plug my MP3 player into the cassette adapter and listen to some conspiraloon hip hop, puts me in the right frame of mind for another day of work.

I've stumbled upon a digital station caled frisky, tons of back to back deep/tribal house, well thats my take on it........ :)

Its great to do your hoovering too :D

Been listening to Xfm recently, went off them for a while (hate the ad-breaks) but the playlist pisses all over other commercial stations.

Fond of Radio 2 (apart from Steve Wright), very eclectic and have a soft spot for Radio 3.

Otherwise, I like playing my own cd collection...

Radio 6 - Tom Robinson is good although a bit 'muso' on a occasion. Craig Charles Funk Show is pretty cool.
Classic FM - the chill out zone is good and i likes a bit o' the old classical stuff.
Jazz FM - nice.
Radio Wales - fuck you!

Radio 4 in the morning and off and on all day interspersed with radio 2 although I can't stand the scottish blokey. Magic and XFM and sometimes Classic FM and then othertimes local station and othertimes nuffink

FiveLive/Sports Xtra for the, well, sport - but I can't get it in Cornwall.

If I'm going to choose a station to get me out of bed I'll choose one I hate. Currently 'Pirate FM', previously 'Rock FM' of fair Lancashire. Funnily enough I've never heard one rock song on Rock FM.

Pirate FM's slogan is 'better variety, more music' but its 'odd pop song, new pop song, old pop song, new pop song, 15 mins of adverts' and repeat.

I'll listen to most things, with one exception - "zany" morning "crews" of the sort that appear on every local commercial station and shout at each other for three hours can sod off. In the mornings, I tend to listen to a local BBC station called GMR which doesn't play music but does talk about things more interesting than how blokes don't leave the toilet seat down and how women don't know the offside rule.

For the rest of the day, I listen to a few different things; a small Manchester commercial station called The Revolution which has a slight alternative / rock slant to its playlist, the London version of Xfm on digital (until the Manchester one appears!) and the local stations Silk FM and Signal One for travel news etc. I've also been known to just press "scan" while driving and see what it ends up on, which oddly led me the other day to listen to a Dutch station called "Yorin FM". You can guess how they pronounce it! :D

XFM Scotland in the morning when I'm driving to my placement, any other time I listen to the radio it's either radio magnetic or random stations through Winamp. Occasionally listen to Lamacq on Radio 1's listen again

Ha you've managed to capture those wacky morning shows brilliantly! :D

The one back home is called 'Morning Zoo' which says it all really. Those DJ's who insist "I'm mad, me!" but really, really aren't.

I listen to LBC, i like anna rayburn in the afternoons and then Iain Lee after that. :o

Though I reckon he'll of got the sack after last nights show.

I listen to quite alot of net radio, especially when ResonanceFM is going through a dull patch, WFMU in New Jersey, fantastic station and CITR in Vancouver for that half way round the world weird vibe ;)

Have I stumbled onto Media UK by mistake here? :D

I listen to Radio 4 in the morning and late afternoon (generally switch off once The Archers and various gardening programmes come on) and to the excellent Resonance FM http://www.resonancefm.com/

Most commercial radio drives me insane and I can't bear inane DJ patter.

No idea - haven't checked them out since they tightened up the registration & only allowed "industry" people to participate in the forums. I think that was a bit mean - they could have allowed existing members read-only access, at least.

Meanwhile back in Llandaff....
Somebody was playing with the new jingles on-air the other day, for God's sake...."listen to this one, now this one, it's in the same key"

Bloody anoraks, shooting's too good for 'em ;)

Hang on - I'm talking about jingles - that makes ME a friggin' anorak, too.

D'oh!

Me too. Who are your fav. presenters then? I like James Whale, yes I know he can be right wing at times but I don't think he actually realises. I like some of his wackier guests he has on. Even some of the regular callers are quite entertaining. I don't like Charlie Wolf though he is a fascist and Ian Collins winds me up a bit.

Ash works well with Whale, bit of a double act there.

Yeah mostly Whale. Some people say he's an obnoxious right winger but I don't know... there is no way to pin him down in my opinion and his show is usually interesting and never too serious (plus Asher is cool).

Charlie Wolf though I can't stand him, American twat. Ian Collins is OK.

Radio 4 and Radio 5 mainly. Sometimes Radio Scotland.

I used to listen to Whale on Talksport for the bizarre callers and guests, but I cant get it on DAB up here.
