Radio 2 chat

Radio 2 is at it's best 7-10pm Mon-Thurs. Johnny Walker is ok on Sunday but me & him go right back to Radio Caroline. Chris Evans is shit, Ken Bruce is ok. J Vine is ok for 20mins until I turn over to Radio 4. Wrighty is as ok as he has ever been, S Mayo plays better music than Wrighty. Overall, Radio 2 is ok imho.

BBC Radio 2 50s - How To Listen To Radio 2 50s - BBC Radio 2 50s

this looks interesting for the oldtimers amongst us
BBC Radio 2 50s is a temporary digital radio pop up service showcasing the best music and nostalgia from the 1950’s.

The service will compliment “My Generation”, a new BBC TV season on the history of popular music, where music fans will share their most precious, personal and rarest music memorability from the 1950’s.

You can listen to Radio 2 50s via:

  • a DAB digital radio. To make sure you can hear BBC Radio 2 50s, you may need to re-tune your digital radio – just press the ‘Auto Tune’ or ‘Auto Scan’ button after midday on Tuesday.
  • online at bbc.co.uk/radio250s and via the BBC iPlayerRadio app.

The service will be start at midday on Thursday 14th April 2016 to 17th April from midday.

I find myself listening to a surprising amount of Radio 2 these days. Particularly ashamed to confess that I do listen to Chris Evans on term time mornings - the Today programme makes me want to die, Shaun Keaveney makes me want to kill, and I need something mindless to keep time to so that I know without looking at a clock how much time we have left before we need to go.

I actively enjoy Simon Mayo's drive time show  Again, can't listen to 6 at that time because of that fuckhorn Lamaq, and 5-7 is when I get home and cook tea/do kids' bath time etc.

Bob Harris Country has some gorgeous stuff amid the beer and bible plastic anthems.

I used to like the folk show but Mark Radcliffe has ruined it for me :(

Jamie Cullum's jazz show on Tuesdays plays some really good stuff.

Hardly ever listen to radio past about 8.30, and if I do it's either 4extra, 3 or 4.

I have heard good things about that show (from my mum lol)...and agree with you 100% about the Today programme...torture. I would rather listen to Chris Evans than that, on balance.

Does everyone knows that R2 is by far the most popular radio station in the UK?
BBC listening figures go RAJAR

R2 15.5 mill
R4 11 mill
R1 10 mill
R5 5.5 mill
R6 2 mill
R3 2 mill
1XTRA 0.5 mill
