Radical Dance Faction... Anyone got any?

I cut 'em off around spring 1995, so yeah, you probably would. I definitely had them when I used to sab with the Wolvo lot.

god, you're dredging up the names now.
spent most of 92 and 93 going to see aos3, df118, c-charge, co-creators, planet, rdf, etc, etc.

seems like a lifetime ago...

Me too...it was a lifetime ago

Dog on a string........ :)

Anyone remember the fantastic gig at Camden Electric ballroom in 1990, featuring RDF, Citizen Fish, AK47s and Ruff Ruff and Ready? Ended up with most of the crowd dancing on stage with RDF, we had some fantastic purple ohms that caused some severely psychedelic goings-ons along with a mini-riot up and down camden high street on kickin out time...i'm getting all misty eyed :D :D

Anybody know what happened to this bunch of crusty buggers? Borderline Cases is still my most played album, probably.

Revolutionary Dub Warriors first LP was excellent, but that could be down to Adrian Sherwood.

the one after was with the Mad Professor, that was cool too.

i was there when Swanny did some of the vocals.. bizarre watching a softly spoken West Country fella say 'awlright, oim going to do moi vocals now' and then go into the booth and bellow "JAH RASTAFARI" etc :D

Ha ha,

funny thing I found with them was my Dad (who's in his late 60's) loved them, he usually would only listen to classical music. Think it was because he'd bought some new speakers and it was good to show them off.

Yeah... i remember... i remember *lol*

Yeah, what a brillaint band, brillaint gigs and absolutely briliant years (mostly) from 1988 - 1994 (ish)

I have borderline cases on record, and no record player!!!
the second album on tape and its nearly worn out and a wee bit stretched in places.. not that you'd notice tho..
Also have a live tape which is brilliant quality and has survived the ravages of time, was bought at anarchist bookfair in london and a benefit for something!!! has "dirty old town" on it sung by the irish contingent, is truly surreal version but brill at the same time, also has very drunk sounding person calling out continously for "carry me" which was par for the course..

saw them loads all over london in the early 90s.. remember gigs in reading as well.. some labour club down the road from the purple turtle, wherever that might be...

also remember gig in camden that someone else was talkin about on thread as well as gigs in amersham arms in new cross and at hackney homeless festival in finsbury park area, saw them in dublin twice also... nad at hawkwind 12 hour technicolour dream in brixton academy..

those years were so brilliant, exciting and fun, we truly are the surplus people, are we not??

I also remember Bender, and have to say that skanky ska dub rhythm is so infectious, its liberating!!!

Anyway, Lisarocket, was wondering if ye could send me copies of the cds, id be ever so grateful and you can have your pick from my collection of irish trad, dub and punk plus and various other sounds, i could even do ye a pick and mix selection if ye tell me what ye would like!

A lifetime ago..
"why thank you, God bless you,
Coz I am almost like you
its another night in tension town,
another day to come"

first proper festival I went to, if you exclude Strawberry Fayre.

the woman who dragged me there later that summer dragged me to a 3-day festival job on the welsh border, the name of which I have blanked, where it rained the lot of it my acid went bad and our tent was nicked leaving only my contact lens stuff...

now I have glasses - see, I learn!

Me and Rocketman did a load of benefit gigs for the Hackney Homeless...and are proud to say we paid for the toilets for that festie :D Even Green Day contributed to that one ;)

Yes, the band that through pk bought these here boards the slightly controversial expression 'Surplus (people)'

Any one got any of their stuff I could 'borrow'?

<makes cute puppy dog eyes>

Ta.

Avast,
If yer still after RDF stuff, then you can grab it from my Soulseek shares..
My username is "The bouncing prawn" (Soulseek is case sensitive, so add it exactly as written here).
I've also MP3d up my AOS3 album "God's secret agent"
Also check the user "RDC" on soulseek for old school fezzy wotnot. He's got a sheetload.

While we're on the Fezzy Punk/Ska thang, does anyone have a decent copy of the AK47s "Don't call me Vanilla" album?
I've only got a shitey old tape copy and would luv to get me hands on a good quality version. It's a feckin kickin album.

May your toenails never catch on the inside of yer socks,

There was actually a couple of albums they did with Sherwood, Deliverance and State of Evolution. Both are pretty good, never heard the Mad Professor one though.

Dunno if this has been posted anywhere else, but there's some really good news for us RDF fans.....

Clickety click.

Yep, I know Flounder (the promoter and one of the main organisers, alongside Pronghorn) and he alerted me to this one early. The Endorse It Festival (11-13 August, near Shaftesbury) looks a goodie folks! :)

We have tickets as do a few other Urban folks ...
