So is anyone who has downloaded a load of these from rapdishare going to put up a load of torrents? Esp the ones which have been blocked...

The Jeff Mills mix from 1998 is superb. Some ferocious mixing (even if there are mistakes).

Totally agree! Never really got into Jeff Mills before, but thought I would give this 1998 mix a try. The mix is relentless in its ferocity, with so many twists and turns, real rollercoaster experience. Not one dull moment to be had. Rejuvented my interest in Techno anyway (mostly Slam, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Dave Clarke)

So far only downloaded the Jeff Mills session, and the Underworld/Darren Emerson session , plus the Billy Nasty sessions from 1996. Rate both of them.

Downloaded Stacey Pullen and not overly impressed, but with so much cracking stuff elsewhere here who cares??

Any techno sessions on this essential series anyone would recommend?

pish posh, how can i have reached my limit for free downloads when i haven't downloaded anything yet? i'm not paying, i have no facility with which to do so. i was well excited about dancing around my living room with the curtains closed* to techno tunes of yore.

* i have to close the curtains or everyone on the top of the no. 54 can see me bogling to aswad. they do laugh. oh, do they laugh.

You probably share an IP address with someone else that doesn't have an account that has probably downloaded something from Rapidshare in the last 45 minutes or so. Get an account or come back later...... (I made a list and am just going to knock them off as and when). Also totally agree with the Stacy Pullen comment from earlier on - totally didn't get it (but I didn't get the Jeff Mills one either - don't think Techno is my thing).

Brilliant thanks for posting that OP

Has anybody downloaded the Paul ''Trouble'' Anderson mixes from 1997?

Any reccomendations for good speed garage mixes or old house e.g Alistaire Whitehead,Jeremey Healey etc. style

My god it's like a wet dream

Speed Garage - take the Tuff Jam mix from 1997.

House (only my opinion based on the DJ's you stated) - go for the 1993 Junior Boys Own mix, some of early Sasha mixes, the Graeme Park mixes, the 1995 Healy mix is okay (but he drops a Simpley Red track - yuck). Most of the Eric Morillo mixes are good, the CJ Mackintosh mix is good and the Daniel Davoli mix is quite cool for the time.

The 1996 one - yes I have (just on curiosity out of his reputation). Was a touch disappointed, maybe I wasn't in the mood, the mixing was tight and the tunes were good but I just didn't feel it.

I tried downloading the healey mix but got a message saying it had illegal content on it

Just as a head's up as by the sound of it we have a slightly mutual musical interest, the mix listed as the 1996 mix by Healy is actually the 1995 one. I haven't tried downloading the 1995 one to find out if its the 1996 one. It's also cut short to about 94 minutes in two parts. On the subject of Jacko yeah there is a nice blend in the mix between "Smooth Criminal" (Rhythm Brothers mix) and "Higher State of Consciousness" by Josh Wink with Healy scratching over the top.

Ashley Beedle 1998 mix is a great sing-along soulful reggae selection, including some pretty unsual versions of familiar cuts <<<well worth checking

Very dissapointed that the 98 Ian Pooley mix is completely missing - man knows his music - would have loved to hear that... if by any chance anyone has ANY Ian Pooley mixes please share with me :) !

I think Paul Anderson built his rep way back in the 80s, and as is often the case, djs from the past cant reinvent themselves apart from playing the tunes they did in their heyday.

the evil eddie richards mix was good, but again, was done past his prime....

Thank you for bringing this link into our lives

dl'ing Portishead just, queueing up Basement Jaxx '97 and on the lookout for good mixes to listen to on the ride to work (nothing too dark, makes me want to crank the throttle :o ) any suggestions?

I have the Graeme Park mix from 29/1/94. D/l'd it from the link about two months ago. Rapidshare are probably figuring something is going on by the amount of people hammering this link (as it's on numerous boards). Don't have the capacity to upload it anywhere at the moment (various issues) but PM me if you want and we can sort something out. Totally agree with your point about Paul Anderson, he built his reputation way before 1996, but I just totally didn't feel the mix for one reason or another.
