r1 essential mixes - all of them from 1993 - 2007

I'm listening to the Chemical Brothers one from 95 atm. Pretty good. Ta for posting the link. There's a few others I'll have a go at later.

I've gone back in time by about fifteen years and am listening to the very spooky-sounding Portishead one now. A real goldmine this. :)

gonna grab psychonauts... was a top mix.... i think it was in 96 hope its there:cool:
fuck me, I was just about to type that.

had lambs gorecki on repeat from that mix for weeks til I finally tracked a copy down as well.

that was the one with the old 'red leader... standing by' sample in it wasn't it?

*fs=spod*

I recommend scot hardkiss from 96ish, ashley beadle from around the same time... both fucking class IIRC (is it really sad that I can remember pete tong's exact introduction to both mixes word for word?)

erm and I'm gonna track down twa live from vague as well to see if they were as bad as the shindig boys reckon, or as good as I remember them from dancing in vague:hmm:

gonna plug my timemachine in shortly, destination the 90's...

Lots of good recommendations in this thread... really enjoyed Colcut's from 2006 personally, Mr Scruff's is a good 'un too, Skream winsss. Certainly see Oakenfold's '94 Goa Mix as classic (18th of December, 2 parts).

Gona yoink Leftfield, FSOL, Daft Punk and Digweed m'self. So much to choose from! :D

I seem to have downloaded the second half of that Ed Rush & Optical mix which was dumb but it went pretty much straight into my favourite DnB track EVER

Have to find the first bit now :D :o

I have the whole thing at home, can send you it later if you want...

Am I missing something or are some of them not uploaded? I can't find the Daft Punk ones from 1997, they are listed but not on the next page

i'm listening to one of the basement jaxx one's now (from 1997) - i feel like i want to go to back to being at rooty now.

Ha just listening to Colcut's mix again, I seriously can't rate it enough, fucking choons! I've recommended it to a few mates though and they've not been so blown away, but hey... guess it's just how I roll. It has teddybears picnic in it ffs! :D

Just listening to Blame's Feb 2009 mix. Loving it! Fun and games.
Downloaded Fake_Blood's one last night too, will listen this afternoon........

i'm listening to the basement jaxx one from 23/09/2001 - can anyone ID the tune at around 53 minutes in? quite a dark techy dnb affair....

Listening to an Air mix from 1998 now. Pretty good - all over the place musically, it's almost like they tried to include every genre. I like mixes like that. No great mixing skill involved or anything - just a lot of attention to selecting the songs. D'L-ing the second one from later in the year from them, too.
