They look far more real and menacing than the CGI rubbish from the new trilogy
@ starfish: no, it doesn't matter, and I'm descending into nerd territory, but I've been known to put one of the original trilogy films on when I come home pissed on a Saturday and I'm not ready for bed yet. Then, as you're watch them, these intriguing questions form themselves in one's mind
Another thing I've been wondering around is the rank of Darth Vader. You would assume he's no. 2 and inferior only to the Emperor. Yet on A New Hope Peter Cushing's character appears to give him orders, and fellow Imperial officers mock his religion. So he only became second in command by default when every other high-ranking officer was killed in the first Death Star. I smell a conspiracy.
