Quick Star Wars question

Ah, therein lies the rub of the fuckup of Episodes 1-3.

No acceptable mon amigo. The non-democratic and royalist hierachy of the rebellion (4-6) were clearly veterans of the old 'republic,' and the prequel episodes make no drastic effect on the timeline.

But there wasn't time for anyone to "rise through the ranks." Another question I have asked here ad nauseum: Where the fuck did the Emperor's (non-clone) army come from?

If you believe the military apologists around here then the answer is probably 'economic conscription'

I wa referring to Mr Moff Tarkin, who Georgey boy obviously forgot about.

They look far more real and menacing than the CGI rubbish from the new trilogy

@ starfish: no, it doesn't matter, and I'm descending into nerd territory, but I've been known to put one of the original trilogy films on when I come home pissed on a Saturday and I'm not ready for bed yet. Then, as you're watch them, these intriguing questions form themselves in one's mind :D

Another thing I've been wondering around is the rank of Darth Vader. You would assume he's no. 2 and inferior only to the Emperor. Yet on A New Hope Peter Cushing's character appears to give him orders, and fellow Imperial officers mock his religion. So he only became second in command by default when every other high-ranking officer was killed in the first Death Star. I smell a conspiracy.
