Quick landlord query

It's near enough London to be London for me, takes 15 mins in a car to get there and it may be a shitehole but Hackney definitely isn't any better.

No! Its is not London in any way! Sorry but it is not!

If you are talking about how much rent is, it is especially not London!

It takes 15 mins on a good day, in an ultra fast car, when there is no traffic to get to the very boarder or SE London (somewhere like Eltham) but even there rental prices there are nothing like proper London prices.

Actually scrap that, how can you get to London in 15 mins from Dartford?

Sorry to derail your thread Hackney but it seems that snadge is not really thinking what he is saying, a lot, on this thread.

So HackneyE9 how much is the weekly rent (may have to rent out our two bed in Hackney next year for a period of time) - serious question.

If he didn't have the flat in the UK, he'd still be paying rent in the place abroad. As it is, he has been able to rent it out and cover his mortgage. Hence, he has had his mortgage paid for him for 6 months in return for no or minimal work. This is a fortunate position.

Bit unfair LBJ?

If his rent abroad is comparable to his rent here, then he's effectively been in the same position as a normal houseowner paying their mortgage - he's paying rent out, and coming in is his mortgage being paid. Hardly evil

well you shouldn't have agreed to letting them go then.

what the bloke tried to get off you is immaterial as well as what he spends his money on, he is still not liable for the other 2 peoples rent, they are but unfortunately you absolved their responsibility by giving them permission to leave early.

What utter, utter piffle. If it's any standard contract, all the tenants are jointly and severally liable for the whole rent. And clearly any permission the OP gave them to leave early would only refer to the tenants jointly, unless otherwise specified.
