Once upon a time there was an election in Iraq. I remember at least one, and maybe more, poster coming along to U75 to say they were a UK based Muslim, but supported the boycot in Iraq because it was naughty to vote because Islam said Allah prefers benevolent dictators. Or somesuch guff.

I think you'll find that this UK based poster's claim to be in a position to represent the motivation of people in Iraq who boycotted is sadly lacking in any real foundation. Obviously.

It's a bit like an anarchist group putting out statements calling on people to boycott elections here then claiming responsibility for the decline in turn out.
